"Creativity is within me waiting to be discovered." author unknown |
Dawn Wick has been working with stained glass since 2000.
In 2002 she began making glass beads (lampworking), fused glass and polymer
clay. She uses her beads, glass and polymer clay in her own jewelry designs,
gifts and kaleidoscopes.
Dawn regularly exhibits at craft shows in North Carolina and often demonstrates
beading, polymer clay and lampworking. She is a past president of the
Piedmont Polymer Clay Guild and an active member in the Winston-Salem Craft
Guild.

I believe that everyone is born with artistic ability. When we
are children, we know how to play and explore the possibilities. As
we get older, the play is put aside and the possibilities aren't as endless.
In our fear of failure we forget how to explore and experiment. We
lose our creativity. If given the "permission" to fail - to explore
without fear, then we can recapture that lost creativity.
Before I gave myself this chance at an artistic life, I was a software
analyst and computer teacher. My media then were spreadsheets, newsletters
and programming. One day I had the opportunity to attend a stamping
demonstration where I relearned how to color and play. Today, my media
are glass, polymer clay, paper and wire. The more willing I am to experiment
with these, the more I am amazed at what you can do with them.
I hope that you'll check out some of my pages; perhaps become inspired;
or find that special gift for yourself or a loved one.
